MLK Faith in Action Assembly

January 15 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join OSP this coming Monday, January 15, to celebrate Rev. Dr. King’s life and legacy at the Martin Luther King Faith in Action Assembly & Governor’s Candidate Forum. Hundreds of people of faith from across the Chicagoland area will come together to worship and take action on critical justice issues in our city and state. We will ask Chicago aldermen to make public commitments of support to police contract reform. We are also excited to announce that six candidates running for governor have confirmed their attendance for a forum on Monday: Biss, Kennedy, Pritzker, Hardiman, Daiber, and Ives.

RSVP today, as this is an event you won’t want to miss! #WeAreOSP #WeAreCRS

  • 8:00am – Registration and seating: the church will have assigned pews for all congregations attending the assembly, so we’ll have a specific OSP section for us.
  • Parking &Shuttle – Since parking is limited around Old St. Pat’s on weekdays (metered parking and paid parking lots), we encourage folks to take public transit and be green if you can! CRS will also provide shuttle service from First Baptist Congregational Church (FBCC) at 1613 W. Washington to OSP. Attendees may park in the FBCC parking lot and jump on one of the shuttles to Old St. Pat’s from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. Shuttles will make return trips back to FBCC starting at 12:00 p.m. (when the event ends) until 1:30 p.m.
  • 8:30am – 12:00pm: Assembly with speakers, music, and candidate forum
  • Kids/Youth Area – There will be an area for kids (toddler and up) in the FXW Cafeteria to come in and out of during the assembly to engage in social justice focused games and songs. Light snacks will be provided.
  • Social Media – Use #CRSMLK and #WeAreOSP when posting to social media.
