Partners Religious Education Program

Dear Parents,
Thank you for your continued interest in the Partners, BluePrints and Foundations Programs. We are so grateful that you continue to commit yourselves to making religious formation a priority for your family!
We have begun registration for the upcoming year. Download registration form.
As in the past, each month from October through May there will be two Partners and BluePrints sessions. The Foundations Youth Group, however, will be meeting two to four times each month.
PARTNERS AND BLUEPRINTS
Session One will typically take place on the first Sunday of the month following the 9:30 a.m. Mass (see attached tentative calendar for a better idea). Families are encouraged to attend Mass together with the pre-school through third graders taking part in the Liturgy of the Word for Children and older children remaining in the pews with their parents. Immediately after Mass, children will attend class in the Frances Xavier Warde School Building until Noon. At this same time, parents will gather for a “class” of their own – an important component to our program in which a speaker will offer thoughts for carrying out a monthly theme. Related activities and take-home materials will be provided. Location may change from month-to-month and will be included in the final summer calendar.
Session Two will take place on the third Sunday of the month (again, see attached tentative calendar for details). We will begin the day with a special Family Mass, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Church.
Afterwards, the children will attend class until Noon. Parents are invited to gather for coffee and fellowship during that time. Periodically, an additional session will be held for sacramental preparation. Please check the supplemental calendar for details. *In order to honor our sacramental program, please note that students are allowed no more than two excused absences prior to the reception of their sacrament. All parent sacramental meetings are mandatory.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Additionally, those seeking sacramental preparation through the Partners Religious Education Program would have an additional $75 fee. This applies to grade 2nd - First Holy Communion; grade 3rd - Reconciliation; grade 7th - Confirmation. At the second grade level children receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. The Partners’ children begin intense preparation beginning in January and continuing through the ceremony in the Spring. At the third grade level children receive the sacrament of Reconciliation in February. The seventh and eighth grade classes prepare students for the sacrament of Confirmation. The classes span two years with Confirmation being celebrated in November.
In addition to the fee for the Partners Program, those who are preparing for Sacraments have an additional $75 fee (second grade—First Communion, 3rd grade—Reconciliation and 7th grade—Confirmation.)

FOUNDATIONS YOUTH MINISTRY
The Foundations Youth Group invites high school students on the first and third Sundays (following the Partners & BluePrints calendar) to Team Building Sunday, an opportunity for Foundations teens to connect with their peers and make new friends. On the second and fourth Sunday, high school students will meet for Formation Sundays, where they will delve deeper into the spiritual component of the program with speakers, discussions and activities formatted to the youth group curriculum. Additional Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year will be dedicated to service.

Please attach your check to the completed student and family registration forms and return in an envelope clearly labeled “FAMILY MINISTRY” either in the collection basket or by mail at your earliest convenience.
A more definitive calendar will be sent to you toward the end of the summer when dates and locations have been finalized.

Please note that those who will make their confirmation in November of 2010 will automatically continue on to the 8th Grade BluePrints Program where their focus will be on living out the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
