The music ministry at Old St. Patrick´s has a reputation for providing the people of God with joyful and prayerful worship experiences and concerts. At the core of the community´s music program are dozens of dedicated musicians — singers and instrumentalists alike.
With multiple masses celebrated every Sunday morning, afternoon and evening, and rehearsals scheduled at different times, numerous opportunities exist for talented people to participate in our music ministry. We will gladly accommodate your busy schedule as best we can.
If your calendar does not permit a weekend or regular commitment, we have a number of choirs that rehearse no more than two or three months of the year and perform for special occasions and liturgies. If you love to sing, or play your instrument, and would like to be a part of our wonderful music ministry, we would love to have you audition. There are many ways to share your talents at Old St. Patrick´s.
Please join the Women’s Chorus in a celebration of our Blessed Mother!
Sunday, August 16 at the 8:00 Mass a choir of women of all ages will gather to celebrate the Blessed Mother and her Assumption into heaven; we will sing literature from through the centuries, including works by Charpentier, Saint-Saens, Gounod, Hommerding, Cooney, and others. Please consider joining us for this liturgy, the inaugural appearance of the Women’s Choir!
Requirements for participation: Excellent intonation, music reading ability, attendance at all rehearsals and calls unless cleared with the Director of Worship Music in advance. (Note: we will not have the opportunity to spend much time going over individual parts; singers need to be able to grasp their vocal line on their own fairly easily.)
(Note: if you are new to the OSP choral program and not yet on any of our OSP Music mailings or rosters, and you are interested in participating, please email Jennifer Budziak at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP to get connected!)
Rehearsals: Thursday, August 6 from 7-9pm
Thursday, August 13 from 7-9pm
Liturgy: Sunday, August 16, 8:00pm (call time 6:45pm)
Please come sing with us!
–Dr. Jennifer K. Budziak, Director of Worship Music
