Reconciliation

God the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son, has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church, may God give you pardon and peace; and I absolve you from your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

—Words of Absolution

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered at Old St. Patrick’s every Friday at 11:45 a.m., or upon request. If you would like to speak with a priest, please call the church office at 312.648.1021.

Twice a year, we gather as a community for Communal Reconciliation Services. These are held during the Advent and Lenten seasons. They include opportunities for individual confession.

Old St. Patrick’s Family Ministry Program offers a Family Reconciliation Service. Periodically, families can gather for a reconciliation service designed to strengthen the forgiveness to be found within the family. The service includes a simple Examination of Conscience and reconciliation as individuals or as a group. The service is in an informal setting and is appropriate for children of all ages, including those who have not yet received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. For more information, please contact Bea Cunningham, BeaC@oldstpats.org, 312.831.9351.
