Flowers

• Nothing can be attached to the pews in any way.
• Old St. Patrick’s generally has silk flowers on its main altar and fresh pieces according to the season elsewhere on the altar. For example, there are multicolored flowers for Easter and spring, white for summer, autumn colors for fall, and winter arrangements for Advent and Lent. At Christmas, there are poinsettieas.
• Existing floral arrangements may not be moved or removed.
• No arrangements can be placed directly on the marble floor.
• If floral arrangements are ordered, you will need flower stands or pedestals. Old St. Pat’s does not have flower stands.
• We cannot store any stands; they must be removed immediately after the wedding, along with all flowers.
• Flower stands can be placed at the base of the altar steps or in front of the grey pillars at the back of the Church near the entrance.
• The railings leading to the Church doors can be decorated as long as the arrangement does not impede the use of the railing.
• Old St. Pat’s seasonal arrangements in the urns o utside the church may not be disturbed without specific permission.
• Please identify each flower piece with a note to designate the recipient, e.g., mother of the bride, mother of the groom, usher, etc.
• Old St. Pat’s wedding volunteers will help distribute any personal flowers (corsages, boutonnieres) and with placing flowers for the Sign of Peace or for the Virgin Mary.
• Flowers may only be delivered 40-50 minutes before the wedding ceremony.
• No rice, balloons, birdseed, bubbles, streamers, flower petals, release of doves, butterflies or other materials that require clean up or may present a safety issue may be used either inside or outside the church.
• Flower girls may not drop petals inside or outside of the church, or distribute flowers as they process or recess.
