Photographers
Still photographers work at your discretion and at the discretion of the priest officiating at your wedding. Your photographer will be asked to stay out of the sanctuary but can use the side and center aisles and the balcony.
Please ask your photographer to introduce himself/herself to Gilbert, the sacristan and wedding assistant and inquire about guidelines for photographing weddings at Old St. Patrick’s, or call Jo Ann O’Brien, JoAnnO@oldstpats.org, at 312.831.9383 the week prior to the ceremony if they have not worked at Old St. Patrick's or if they have specific questions about the guidelines.
If you have given any specific instructions to your photographer about your preferences, please feel free to share them with the wedding assistant at the rehearsal. She will help make sure that you wishes are carried out.
We have found that most couples choose to have photographs taken immediately after the ceremony and have the receiving line at the reception. If you wish, the wedding assistant will work with you and the photographer to help you and your attendants to return to the altar without getting delayed with an impromptu receiving line.
