Advent Evening of Reflection

Please join us for a very special and prayerful evening of reflection on the themes of the season. The evening begins in the Church with a Reconciliation Service that includes the opportunity for individual sacramental reconciliation. You are then invited to join us for a festive dinner in the Hughes Hall. Following our meal, we are most pleased to welcome renowned author, theologian, and storyteller Jack Shea as he leads us through some new and inspiring reflections on the joys, challenges, and deepest meanings- of Christmas.
5:30–6:15 p.m. Reconciliation Service
6:15–7:00 p.m. Buffet Dinner
7:00–8:15 p.m. Seeing Haloes: An Evening of Christmas Poetry, Song, and Reflection. Jack Shea reflects on themes of the season.
The Reconciliation Service will take place in the Church.
Dinner and the Presentation will be in Hughes Hall.
Both the Church and Hughes Hall are accessible by elevator (north tower of the church, nter from Desplaines Street).
Dinner reservations ($20 per person) are required. Reserve your place by visiting our online reservation and payment site here.
Please allow us to offer you our best hospitality by making your dinner reservations no later than Monday, December 10. Reservations will be held at the door.
Of course, no reservations are necessary for the Reconciliation Service. There will be limited seating available for those who choose to attend only the Presentation in the Church Hall. Please feel welcome to join us for all or any part of the evening’s schedule!
Jack Shea is a theologian and storyteller who lectures nationally and internationally on storytelling in world religions, faith-based health care, contemporary spirituality, and the spirit at work movement. He has published thirteen books of theology and spirituality and three books of poetry. His most recent publication is Seeing Haloes: Christmas Poems to Open the Heart.
