Old St. Patrick's supports churches and community organizations in surrounding neighborhoods that provide basic-needs services for people during the COVID 19 Pandemic. The following are a few of those institutions and descriptions of their vital services.

UCAN is located in North Lawndale, and provides comprehensive residential services to youth suffering trauma, and also serves as a hub to provide multiple additional needs to smaller community organizations. During COVID-19, UCAN is providing free food to community residents on a weekly basis.

A group working to encourage and further adult literacy among people in North Lawndale and Little Village. Many of their students are impoverished and in need of basic necessities. They are currently working to serve the community and their students through e-learning, and are expanding access to the internet and devices.

Arise Chicago builds partnerships between faith communities and workers to fight workplace injustice through education, organizing, and advocating for public policy changes. They've arranged a fund to help workers and families who have lost their jobs due to COVID or cannot work because they were sick.

During the COVID-19 crisis, we are providing grab-and-go meals along with fresh produce and non-perishable pantry items in place of our in-person Community Soup Kitchen. Pick-up is from our parking lot at 5:30-6:30 pm on Tuesday evenings. No zip code restrictions apply and there is no need to register in advance.

This organization seeks to interrupt cycles of violence among youth and young adults who are most likely to be perpetrators or victims of that violence. Programming includes mentoring, counseling, basic needs, employment and values-based art programming. Notably, since COVID-19 started, the Firehouse prepares and delivers safely packaged, ready-to-eat, cooked meals to 100 families two times per week, every week; 90% of the families are from North Lawndale and 10% are dispersed throughout the Chicago Metro Area.
