Looking for a space to learn more about the bible and reflect on how we can apply each week’s readings to daily life?
afterWORD is a weekly Scripture study group based on the Sunday readings. We are able to gradually deepen our knowledge of the Bible while finding fellowship around our limitations and our successes in feeling the Divine Spirit in our lives. Come for fellowship with people sharing their interpretation of that week's Scripture and with the underlying issues that Jesus, the apostle Paul or the prophets address.
We meet every Sunday after the 9 AM Mass, 10:15 - 11:30 AM in the Community Room on the 2nd floor at 625 W. Adams, Fellowship Hall. Attendees are free to drop in on occasion or attend every week. Contact Scott Harper at [email protected] with questions.
afterWORD is led by Scott Harper, our Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) sponsor which is designed to appeal to all – novice and the more experienced. Scott has his M.A. in systematic theology from Catholic Theological Union and a Ph.D. from University of Oxford in Religion and Science and invites all to join in this discussion.

“I am grateful for AfterWORD because the group opens me to see the history and messages of the Readings in my daily life. We share our struggles as vulnerable sheep and strengthen our faith so we can be shepherds who carry the Spirit into the world.”
