Pastoral Care at Old St. Pat's

Divorce Support Groups

Old St. Pat’s Divorce Recovery Support Group
Next Session Starts Monday, September 14 | We meet virtually through Zoom | 6 pm - 7:30 pm

The divorce process often brings about unexpected and unimaginable heartache, questions, and challenges. It is an especially vulnerable time due to the pandemic. Divorce Recovery was created to bring hope and healing to those who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage. Sessions include education, discussion, and prayer. Each meeting focuses on a different aspect of the divorce healing process such as grief, stress, anger, blame, guilt, loneliness, family issues, forgiveness, and happiness.

Our mission is to help get you started and keep you going on the path to rebuilding and renewal by providing information, resources, and encouragement. It will help answer questions, restore hope, and begin authentic healing. More importantly, process groups offer a safe place
where people can come together for mutual support and to learn their feelings are normal and they’re not alone.

Divorced men and women are welcome to attend. It is for those recently divorced, as well as those still struggling with issues many years later. All ages are welcome. You do not need to be a member of Old St. Pat’s to participate. The support group is facilitated by a licensed therapist.

Our 7-session program meets virtually for 7 weeks using a secure Zoom platform. Registration is $70 which includes 7 sessions and a workbook that will be mailed to you. Scholarships available for those in need. To ensure the quality of the program, there is limited space. Upon registration, a Zoom invitation will be emailed to you early September. You Are Not Alone: Divorce Support Group

Sometimes, no matter how much effort is expended, a marriage can’t be saved. In that sad event, Old St. Pat’s stands ready to support you to heal and recover, through our Divorce Support Group: You Are Not Alone.

This is a networking group for men and women who are separated or divorced. “You Are Not Alone” is a chance to talk with other men and women who are separated or divorced. This group meets to discuss topics of importance to those seeking to heal during and after one of life’s most difficult transitions. This is not a group of professional counselors, but a group of your peers who have been there and simply wish to listen and offer encouragement. This group meets every other Sunday, from 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Fr. Jack Wall Mission Center, Rm. 21, 711 W. Monroe, Chicago 60661.
