Welcome to Old St. Patrick’s Church! Since 1846, members of Old St. Pat’s have gathered to celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ amidst the rich diversity of Chicago. Gathering for Eucharist is our common way to be fed, nourished, and sent into the world to become what we receive.
Our liturgical worship is shaped by shared commitment to hospitality, beauty, and kinship. We invite you to join any of our Masses!

Sunday Mass at Old St. Patrick’s
|
Throughout the year, we celebrate, bless, and honor the diverse community who gather for Mass at Old St. Pat's. We gather together at the Special Friends Mass and Mass of Remembrance and on Mother's Day and Father's Day. During Mass, we bless couples preparing for marriage, those touched by Adoption, Marathon runners, and more. Information about Masses will be available in the Crossroads Bulletin and in the weekly “This Week in the Old St. Pat’s Community” email newsletter.
9 am Church Mass (Livestream)
Our 9 am worshiping community includes thousands of people across the globe who join our prayer via livestream. During the school year, this Mass is especially popular among families with young children and offers Children’s Liturgy of the Word for 3-year-olds to 2nd graders on the first three Sundays of the month.
9 am Family Mass
(Monthly, September through April)
Old St Pat’s Family Masses help us see and hear what is always true: that children and teens are not just the future of our Church, but are the Body of Christ today. Our monthly Family Masses are held at 9 am in the main church, generally on the third Sunday of the month.
During these Masses, young members of our community from Foundations Youth Ministry, the Frances Xavier Warde School, and Partners Religious Ed Program serve as liturgical ministers (ministers of hospitality, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers) and the Youth Choir leads us in song. Expect a full and lively church on these days, and consider arriving early!
9 am Hughes Hall Mass
(Twice monthly, September through April)
From September through April, our thriving Partners Religious Education Program and Foundations Youth Ministry mean that our community needs more space than the church alone provides. On these weekends, we offer Mass in two locations: upstairs in the main church and downstairs in Hughes Hall (accessible from Adams Street via stairs and from Desplaines Street via stairs and elevator).
Old St. Pat’s renowned music ministry supports our prayer in both locations. In Hughes Hall, we invite you to note the beautiful Stations of the Cross paintings that were commissioned during the renovation of the church and the new altar table recently donated by the Old St. Pat’s Men’s Group.
