Funds, Memorials and Legacy Gifts
Designated Funds
While Old St. Pat’s truly appreciates unrestricted gifts made through Sunday Giving offerings, we understand that sometimes donors want to support a specific ministry or initiative. If you’d like to make a restricted gift online, be sure to select the designation in the drop-down menu. If contributing by check, be sure to indicate your intent in the memo line.

Memorials
Book of Patrick
The Book of Patrick provides perpetual remembrance for an individual on a designated date. The individual’s name will be inscribed into the artful Celtic-designed Book of Patrick, which resides on permanent display in the alcove in the back of the church. Additionally, the person’s name will be published in the Crossroads Sunday publication for the week of remembrance. We will also send a beautiful, Celtic-designed card to a friend or family member notifying them of your thoughtfulness. The contribution for perpetual remembrance is $150.

Tax-Free IRA Gifts
People aged 70½ or older may make tax-favored charitable gifts from traditional and Roth IRA accounts. Recent legislation retroactively extends the charitable IRA rollover from 2015 and makes this provision permanent for future years.
How It Works
People aged 70½ or older may make tax-favored charitable gifts from traditional and Roth IRA accounts. Recent legislation retroactively extends the charitable IRA rollover from 2015 and makes this provision permanent for future years.
How It Works
- If you are 70½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to Old St. Pat’s free from federal income tax each year.
- The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you still benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.
- Your IRA charitable rollover gift can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
- Be sure to have the gift distributed directly from an IRA to Old St. Pat’s.
Donor Advised Fund
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is often administered by a financial services company or a community foundation. It allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support Old St. Pat’s. During your lifetime, you can recommend a grant to Old St. Pat’s from your donor advised fund (DAF) at any time. You also may designate one or more beneficiaries to receive the remaining contributions in your DAF after your lifetime. We hope you will consider naming Old St. Pat’s as one of the final grantees of your fund. To make a gift to Old St. Pat’s from your DAF, you’ll need the following information: Legal Name: Old St. Patrick’s Church Federal Tax ID number: 36-2171102 To learn more about any of these opportunities for giving, please contact Ann McNamara, Chief Development Officer, at 312.831.9355 or [email protected]. |
