HealingTogether@Home, A Grief Support GroupApril 25 | 6:30 | Zoom
Support in dealing with the grief experience is a valuable way of helping yourself or someone you know. Support groups often provide an opportunity for grieving persons to better understand the wide range of feelings and behaviors associated with grief and offer a safe place where people can come together for mutual support, to learn that their feelings are normal, and that one need not be alone. Support in dealing with the grief experience resulting from the death of a Loved One is a valuable way of helping yourself or someone you know. Our program is offered over the course of six consecutive weeks. Our groups are small by design so that they are comfortable and informal. Our next program will start on Thursday, April 25th. In his talk titled "Stop Expecting to Agree: Communion as a Way Out of Polarization," Fr. Sawyer will invite us to explore possible ways forward, including moving away from a “threat mentality” to a sense of greater and genuine communion with each other. Spirit of St. Brigid PilgrimageAugust 6-12 | Ireland
In honor of St. Brigid of Kildare’s 1500 Anniversary, Encounter Young Adult Ministry is going on a pilgrimage to Ireland to follow St. Brigid’s footsteps. Every day will be a different theme such as service, social justice, and growing in our Catholic faith. We will be there on August 6th - 12th, 2024 with a group of 20 Young Adults. Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)Various Sundays | 9 AM Mass | Old St. Patrick's Church
A special part of the family Sunday experience at Old St. Patrick’s Church for children ages Kindergarten through second grade is “Children’s Liturgy of the Word” (CLOW) ministry. Children should sit with their families until they are invited to the altar by the priest. They will then go into the rectory with adult leaders to learn about the readings of the day in a child-friendly manner. Due to the holidays, YANA we will be meeting 10:30 am -12 pm on Zoom December 3rd and in person November 19th at 718 W. Adams (Rectory), Third Floor, Dining Room. Old St Pat’s Divorce Support Group (YANA) is a networking group for men and women who are separated or divorced. “You Are Not Alone” is a chance to talk with other men and women who are separated or divorced. This group meets to discuss topics of importance to those seeking to heal during and after one of life’s most difficult transitions. Peer facilitated by those who have been there and simply wish to listen and offer encouragement. Participation is free. |
