Sr. Jean Schmidt, BVM
Sister Jean is best known for her vibrant presence on the sidelines of the Loyola Ramblers basketball team, but her impact extends far beyond sports. As a trailblazer and woman of faith, she has shattered many glass ceilings and achieved numerous firsts. After becoming a BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) nun, Sister Jean took on various roles in education, where she has tirelessly supported and empowered women. Her dedication
has been pivotal in creating an environment where women can flourish. This year, we proudly dedicate the Emerald Ball to celebrate all women, including our Heart of the Crossroads recipient.

We are also pleased to announce that Peg Roth will be the “Heart of the Crossroads” recipient. This recognition was established to express our gratitude to individuals, couples, or families who have devoted significant time, energy, and spirit to the Old St. Patrick’s Church community. We are delighted to honor this remarkable woman, who has spent countless years guiding and supporting women in our programs and shepherding our ministries.
