Grief & Funeral Liturgies
The death of a loved one is a time of great sadness and personal grief. Old St. Pat's walks with individuals that are dealing with the grief experience through liturgy and support groups. We offer a safe place where people can come to make preparations for funerals as well as offering groups for those in need of mutual support.
Funeral Liturgies
It is during the Funeral Liturgy that we remember not only the life of the one who has died but also the presence of the Lord Jesus in that person’s life. The death of a loved one is a time of great sadness and personal grief. We are also available to the dying themselves, should they want to be a part of the planning of their own funeral, but more commonly, we are here to provided our members assistance on the sad occasion of the passing of a loved one.
As you make all the preparations for the funeral, we at Old St. Pats are here to help and assist you in planning the Mass of Christian Burial. Know that the family of Old St. Patrick’s grieves with you for your loss, and we are here to help you in this time of need.
It is always difficult planning for a funeral, and, in times of grief, it is often not easy to make decisions. We are here to listen and to help you understand the rituals that are used by the Church when a member of the Body of Christ dies and help you with questions you might have when planning a Funeral Mass.

HealingTogether@Home, A Grief Support Group
HealingTogether@Home is a virtual grief support group that has been organized for those who are grieving the death of a loved one: parent, spouse, significant other, sibling, family member, extended family member, friend…It hurts!
You may be experiencing some of the most powerful and painful feelings of your life. The many feelings of grief may seem uncomfortable and threatening to you. And, sadly, there are too few people who want to talk to you about this pain.
Support in dealing with the grief experience is a valuable way of helping yourself or someone you know. Support groups often provide an opportunity for grieving persons to better understand the wide range of feelings and behaviors associated with grief. More importantly, support groups offer a safe place where people can come together for mutual support, to learn that their feelings are normal, and that one need not be alone.
Our Fall 2025 program has been rescheduled to start in January 2026. Our groups are small by design so that they are comfortable and informal. Please stay tuned for upcoming registration details.
Questions? Contact Judi Black or Bill Brennan at [email protected].
