Encounter Young Adult Ministry
Rooted in Old St. Pats mission and vision, Encounter, the Young Adult Ministry, is an inclusive community for young singles and couples! Meet fellow OSP members as we foster connection, grow in faith, deepen relationships, engage in social justice initiatives, and discover new roles in family, work, society and the Catholic Church. Encounter weaves together spirituality, social justice, education, and social events to create one vibrant fabric of community. Details for our ongoing events are listed below.

A team of active Encounter committee members along with Brenda Chávez, the Director of Young Adult Ministry and Neighborhood Engagement, coordinate all activities for this ministry. Along with planning events at the parish, we make it a priority to invite and welcome folks into the community to participate in rich experiences. This ministry also seeks to increase involvement and elevate voices of younger adult OSP members to integrate ideas for growth into the larger parish community.

Theology on Tap #3: Pray Like a Jesuit
Join us for our third and final session of our Theology on Tap series on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30pm at Pompei Restaurant (1531 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60607). Our pastor, Fr. Patrick McGrath, SJ will explore a few key themes of the pragmatic mysticism of St. Ignatius Loyola and the ways of praying that flow from it. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other Young Adults and learn more about how to pray like a Jesuit.

Young Adult Small Groups
Join one of our Young Adult Small Groups to connect and grow in faith with others in their 20s and 30s. Whether you're new in town, figuring out your next step, or just looking for authentic friendships, there's a group for you. Come as you are!
We meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month after 5pm Mass starting on Sunday, September 21st and ending on Sunday, November 16th. We meet in the 703 W Monroe building and end by 7:45pm. Register to be a facilitator by August 29th and by September 12th to join a small group. |
Adoration & Contemplative Music
Every first Wednesday of the month, we host 1 hour of Adoration and live Contemplative Music in the Church at 7pm. It is c0-hosted by Encounter Young Adult & Music Ministry, but open to all ages.

Young Adult Leadership Team
Join Encounter’s Leadership Team for the upcoming year from September ‘25 - July ‘26. This is a flexible group of young adult leaders who will meet bimonthly to brainstorm, build community, and volunteer for upcoming events at Encounter and Old St. Pat’s. If you are interested in learning more, you can submit your interest through the form below by Friday, August 29th.
