Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 7 pm We’ve experienced numerous Lents. Yet Lent’s significance often goes beyond what we commonly perceive. It’s not basically about “giving up stuff.” It’s about finding freedom and opening to the Spirit. Complex business. The ashes come with the contemporary liturgical injunction, “repent and believe in the Gospel.” What precisely does this entail, and how do we navigate it? Let's give it some thought. Wednesdays, February 14th, 21st, & 28th, March 6th, 13th, & 20th *February 14th program begins at 7:15 PM, March 6th program begins at 8:15 PM Please join members of the Old St. Pat’s Community throughout the season of Lent for evenings of Adoration and Live Contemplative Music. This experience will be hosted by Encounter younger adults and Old St. Pat's music ministry and open to anyone and everyone. Prayer, reflection, and guidance materials will be available for those praying in this way for the first time. No registration is necessary. |

Every Sunday during Lent We hear the Gospel proclaimed every Sunday. Perhaps we even read the Gospel as a personal spiritual practice. But where can we go if we just want to talk with others about what we hear in the Sunday Gospels? after|WORD is a thirty minute session, scheduled for five Sundays in Lent, that invites us into dialogue with the Sunday Gospel and one another. No registration is necessary. |
Fish Fry 2024Hughes Hall, 700 W. Adams, at 6 pm
Friday, February 23rd, 2024 The Fish Fry proceeds benefit Young Adults embarking on the Spirit of St. Brigid pilgrimage to Ireland this August 2024. This year marks the 1500 Anniversary of St. Brigid of Kildare. To honor her, a group of 20 Young Adults from Old St. Pat's will travel to Ireland to follow in her footsteps. We will spend a week learning about St. Brigid, Ireland's Catholic history and participating in service and spiritual events. We are excited to learn about the global Church and grow in faith together, but we need your help to help offset the costs for those that cannot afford the full price of the trip. Tuesday, February 27, 6:30pm To be part of a movement of change in the church and in our world, we must have the courage to look in the mirror and consider the opportunities we have been given - including the ones we have missed - to be bearers of Christ's love in the world. Let us join together as a community for an evening of prayer and reconciliation, with God, with our world, and with one another. |

Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC) Embark on a transformative Lenten overnight retreat with Encounter Young Adult Ministry as we dive into the profound parable of the Prodigal Son, exploring the themes of reconciliation, forgiveness, and self-healing.
