Monday Evening Rosary Group

The Monday Evening Rosary Group begins prayer via ZOOM every Monday at 6:00PM. All are welcome and we encourage anyone to come and join us during this time. To receive a link to pray with the group, or if you would like to submit a free prayer intention, please contact us at: Rosarypraygroup@oldstpats.org  You can also follow us on Facebook at “Monday Evening Rosary Group.”

Day: Monday
Time: 6:00PM (5:50PM connect)

Location: Zoom
OSP Facilitators: Beth Marek, OSP Outreach
Group Prayer Leader: Ann Engles
The Group experience is less than one hour long. It takes place in two parts.
  • THE FIRST HALF IS PRAYERFUL and guided by the Group Prayer Leader. The Group Prayer Leader welcomes those attending, lifts up gratitudes/intentions and begins the prayers of the Holy Rosary followed by the Litany. On the first Monday of each month, members are assigned to recite the various prayers, decades and litany of the Holy Rosary. No one is obliged to take part verbally, and you are welcome to attend to follow along quietly while keeping your setting to “mute.”
We strive to make prayer a meditative time. In order to do this, each participant is asked to MUTE their device if not reciting intentions, prayers or responsorial responses. All are invited to speak once prayers are completed and we enter into the social time.
  • THE SECOND HALF IS A SOCIAL EXCHANGE, as we like to say “first we pray and then we play.” The opportunity to see, hear and share with others in the group can be a very rewarding experience. Upcoming in-person events are discussed at this time for everyone to have input.
If you plan to attend please connect via ZOOM at 5:50PM, to allow for a timely start of members intentions at 6:00PM.

Testimonials

Holy Rosary has come into the lives of many around the world for different reasons but with one common desire; to come closer to speaking with God. The names Fatima and Lourdes bring to mind the messages from the Blessed Mother to “Pray the Rosary.” Members of the Monday Evening Rosary Group would like to share what the Holy Rosary means to them.

2023 Monthly Intentions

JANUARY: The first three Hail Mary’s of the Holy Rosary are an expression of the special communion with your grace, O Lord. This is the spirit in which we say this New Year Holy Rosary; with Faith, Hope and Charity in order that we might emulate the virtues of The Blessed Mother.

FEBRUARY: Our Lady of Lourdes, keep your family safe, with loving care, relying on your Son’s heavenly grace and our devotion to the Holy Rosary.

MARCH: We pray that the children of the world are held in loving hands by their parents, as Joseph and Mary showed Jesus. May these families face challenges together and be strengthened by their devotion to your Son, O Blessed Mother.

APRIL: Let us pray that we feel the love of God through the blessings of family and friends and share that light with those in need.

MAY: Blessed are you, O Lord our God, ruler of the Universe. We pray for the leaders of nations and people. May they lead with empathy and contribute to the betterment of the World.

JUNE: Compassionate God, we pray for those who suffer. Please watch over them. May those among us bound so tightly with pain, experience healing and freedom as children of God.

JULY: Merciful and forgiving God, we pray for all who suffer at the hands of others. We pray for the victims of violence from Ukraine to the streets of Chicago. Let there be peace.

AUGUST: O Blessed Mother, Queen of Peace, we pray that reciting the ancient prayers of the Holy Rosary gives us the strength and courage to do God’s will.

SEPTEMBER: O loving God, we pray that your love and mercy will help us to turn evil to good, hatred to love, despair to hope, betrayal to faithfulness and death to eternal life.

OCTOBER: O Blessed Mother, we pray that during this month of the Holy Rosary, we are able to share your message of Pray the Rosary. May
we set an example for others that these powerful ancient prayers are what please your Son, Jesus Christ.

NOVEMBER: Let us pray during this time of Thanksgiving, that your love will bless all people, bless Your church and inspire us to act justly and live kindly with all people everywhere.

DECEMBER: Blessed Virgin Mary, please hear our prayers during this glorious season and in your gentle way show us how to emulate your love, devotion and strength.
