Monday Evening Rosary Group

The Monday Evening Rosary Group meets via ZOOM every Monday at 6:00PM. All are welcome and we encourage anyone to come and join us during this time. To receive a link to pray with the group, or if you would like to submit a free prayer intention, please contact us at: Rosarypraygroup@oldstpats.org

Day: Monday
Time: 6:00PM (5:50PM connect)

Location: Zoom
Facilitators: Beth Marek, OSP Outreach
The Group experience is less than one hour long. It takes place in two parts.
  • The first half is guided by the Group Prayer Host. The Group welcomes those attending, encourages each participant's gratitudes/intentions and lifts them up with the prayers of the Holy Rosary. On the first Monday of each month, members are asked to volunteer or sometimes selected for various Holy Rosary prayers. No one is obliged to take part verbally, and you are welcome to attend to follow along quietly.
We strive to make prayer a meditative time. In order to do this, each participant is asked to MUTE their device if not reciting intentions, prayers or responsorial responses. All are invited to speak once prayers are completed and we enter into the social time.
  • The second half hour is a social exchange, as we like to say “first we pray and then we play.” The opportunity to see, hear and share with others in the group can be a very rewarding experience.
If you plan to attend please connect via ZOOM at 5:50PM, to allow for a timely start of members intentions at 6:00PM.

Testimonials

2022 Monthly Intentions

MAY: Blessed are you, O Lord our God, ruler of the Universe. We pray for the leaders of nations and people. May they lead with empathy and contribute to the betterment of the World.

JUNE: Compassionate God, we pray for those who suffer. Please watch over them. May those among us bound so tightly with pain, experience healing and freedom as children of God.

JULY: Merciful and forgiving God, we pray for all who suffer at the hands of others. We pray for the victims of violence from Ukraine to the streets of Chicago. Let there be peace.

AUGUST: O Blessed Mother, Queen of Peace, we pray that reciting the ancient prayers of the Holy Rosary gives us the strength and courage to do God’s will.

SEPTEMBER: O loving God, we pray that your love and mercy will help us to turn evil to good, hatred to love, despair to hope, betrayal to faithfulness and death to eternal life.

OCTOBER: O Blessed Mother, Queen of the Holy Rosary, we pray that during this month of the Holy Rosary, we are able to share your message of Pray the Rosary. May we set an example for others that these powerful ancient prayers are what please your Son, Jesus Christ.

NOVEMBER: Let us pray during this time of Thanksgiving, that your love will bless all people, bless Your church and inspire us to act justly and live kindly with all people everywhere.

DECEMBER: Blessed Virgin Mary, please hear our prayers during this glorious season and in your gentle way show us how to emulate your love, devotion and strength.

In Memoriam

Picture

Marilyn McManus stepped up as Group Prayer Host of the Monday Evening Rosary Group when we needed her most. Even though her health was failing her, Marilyn never failed us. We will always cherish memories of her quick humor and deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. Marilyn succeeded in making us all feel a part of something powerful, even amidst the dire times of Covid lockdown. Marilyn loved to be called and was truly a “Prayer Warrior.”
